Dial-up Setup Procedure
For a simple installation, run the Internet Connection Wizard, found by clicking the Start button, Programs, Accessories, Communications, and finally Internet Connection Wizard. The wizard will ask all questions necessary to connect to the Internet and setup Outlook Express for Email. All information needed for the wizard is found on the account signup sheet. If Netscape or any other Internet browser is used in place of Internet Explorer, follow the instructions given with that particular browser.
Setting Up Internet Explorer Manually
- Right click on the Internet Explorer icon, left click on Properties.

In the Internet Properties window, select the General tab. In the Address: line type http://www.softek.net and click the Apply button at the bottom.

Go to the Programs tab and make sure Outlook Express is selected for Email.
- Select the Connections tab and click the Add button to add a SofTek connection to the computer.

For connection name type SofTek and click Next.

Type 615 for the area code and 443-5200 for the phone number. Click Next and then Finish. *Our Nashville dialup number is 263-5200.*
- Choose Settings, then Properties and select the Server Types tab at the top.
- Uncheck every check box except Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP.

Click the TCP/IP Settings button at the bottom.
- Select the forth radio button, Specify Name Server Address.
- On the Primary DNS line, delete the first zero on the left and type 216.248.14.245

Hit Tab on the keyboard to go to the Secondary DNS line. Delete the first zero and type 216.248.14.246 and click OK at the bottom of the window.
- Continue selecting the OK button at the bottom of each window until completed.
